Got hacked – Baluki is was dead

Well, I got hacked. Needless to say, I’m upset.
Before being completely locked out of my account, I discovered that they had deleted Baluki. Yes, the Baluki. My lvl. 85 Troll Shaman, whom I created when WoW was in beta, and then created again in December 2004 when the game was released. My main character. ARGH.
I can understand them breaking into the account, stealing all my gold, selling all my stuff, and leaving nothing behind that isn’t nailed down. But deleting the characters? That’s just insulting. That’s burning the house down after robbing it. What a bunch of assholes.
I’ve got my account in lockdown, and Blizzard is apparently working on fixing it. I’m sure I’ll get all my characters back, but I’m worried that all the awesome/stupid stuff I’ve been collecting for the past 6+ years will be gone. But Blizz does this all the time, so hopefully they have adequate restoration mechanisms in place.
Get an authenticator, kids. The dial-up thing they added recently is apparently garbage.
Update:
I’ve got my account under control, and everything is back to normal. All my characters and gear and crazy crap was restored just fine. Thanks Blizz!

Just hit 85! And I’m only done with Vashj’ir and Hyjal now. (Just set foot in Deepholm.)
