The title of this blog has a double meaning. On the one hand, it conveys my mission of skeptical, rational thought and discussion. On the other hand, it’s meant to remind you not to take me too seriously.
Generally, this blog is just meant to foster discussion, and help me work through a lot of things. The world is a strange, beautiful, maddening place, and I’m certainly not always right. In fact, one of my mottos is “Prove Me Wrong”. That also has a double meaning: it can either be confrontational, or show your willingness to hear and consider conflicting evidence.
I write this blog because I’m pretty poor at in-person debate, and also because in-person debates are frequently a poor way to argue your point. The nice thing about blog conversation is that you can more easily and calmly argue your point, and provide proof to back yourself up. It also greatly decreases the effects of many logical fallacies.
If you disagree with anything I write, please politely comment on it. I’ll do my best to address your concerns, and will probably even address your concerns with amendments to the original post.
